Banner currently provides a wide range of competitive benefits to our team members (see below).

If a union represented any of our team members, the wage and benefit package for those team members would be subject to union negotiations. While Banner would negotiate in good faith, there is no guarantee that a labor union could get our team members more or better wages or benefits.

While a labor union could get you more, in the end, you also could get the same or possibly even less following union negotiations. No one knows what could happen as a result of union negotiations.

Medical

(Choice of 3 plans with varying coverage levels and premium)

  • Banner Health Value Plan gives team members a truly low-cost option with low premiums and higher deductibles. If you meet the MyWell-Being Level 3 target, you’ll pay nothing for employee-only premiums! This plan is paired with a Health Savings Account (HSA).
  • Banner Health Premier Plan has low-cost premiums and high deductibles. The Premier Plan is paired with a Health Savings Account (HSA). Single employee coverage receives a $450 employer contribution per year. Those with greater than single coverage receives $900 a year in HSA employer contributions.
  • Banner Choice Plus Plan offers defined copays, lower deductibles (or no deductible for Tier 1 visits) but higher monthly premiums. Consider this plan if you anticipate needing more health care and want the highest level of protection and predictability from your medical insurance. This plan doesn’t qualify for an HSA; you may elect a Health Care Flexible Spending Account (FSA).

Dental

(Choice of 2 or 3 plans (based on home ZIP code)

  • Comprehensive: This dental health maintenance organization (DHMO) plan has the lowest premiums, no deductibles, and no annual maximums. This plan is only offered based on the availability of network providers near your home ZIP code.
  • Value: This dental preferred provider option (DPPO) plan has deductibles for most services, and you pay a percentage of the costs for covered services. You may go to any dentist.
  • Premier: This DPPO plan has the highest premiums but offers the most coverage, including orthodontia.

Vision

(Choice of 2 plans, including discounts and/or allowance for Lasik)

  • Value Plan: The Value Plan offers access to VSP’s large network of providers at a lower premium.
  • Premier Plan: The Premier Plan has a higher premium but offers the most coverage.

Supplemental Health Plans

  • Hospital Indemnity: The Aetna Hospital Indemnity Plan allows you to purchase extra coverage to help pay for out-of-pocket costs when you’re admitted to the hospital.
  • Critical Illness: Aetna Critical Illness insurance pays you a lump-sum benefit to help cover health care costs and other expenses when you’re diagnosed with a covered condition, like heart attack, cancer, or stroke.
  • Accident: The Aetna Accident Plan helps you pay for health care costs and other expenses when you have a covered injury.

Life Insurance

(Base amount paid by Banner with buy-ups available, coverage available for dependent children, spouses and domestic partners)

Short-Term Disability (STD)

(Fully paid by Banner, available after one year of service in eligible position.

  • The STD plan provides you with pay at 60% of pre-disability base pay for up to 26 weeks based on medical criteria to your own illness or non-work-related injury.
  • Maternity STD is 100% of your pre-disability base pay for six weeks with no elimination period for eligible team members.

 

Long-Term Disability (LTD)

(Fully paid by Banner, available after one year of service in eligible position)

  • The Long-Term Disability plan provides 60% of your base earnings up to the maximum of $10,000 per month.
